Some recent achievements at Kansai Photon Science Institute are lectured with their aims: development of new schemes of isotope selection, which is indispensable to realize isotope separation of radioactive waste. While the usual method tuning the wavelength of narrow-band laser is a one-dimensional control, coherent quantum control of molecular rotation and vibration using broadband laser is a two-dimensional control, in which both the temporal profile and the spectral profile are optimized. Therefore, the latter method is expected to have great advantage compared to the conventional method. Some experimental works done in KPSI are introduced. Also, a new schemes recently proposed by us is explained by showing some results of computer simulation.
